We also visited the Petite Trianon close by Grand Trianon which was used by Marie Antoinette as a safe haven to escape the formality of court life, but also to shake off the burden of her royal responsibilities. She had large garden areas and a rustic village made to remind her of her Austrian homeland. (Wikipedia) We didn't visit the village...maybe next time.
