The Clock Tower was built in the 17th century. A reconstructed medieval pillory stands in front of the tower. In the medieval ages, should one be convicted for an applicable offense, he/she would be strapped to the Pillar of Shame for 24 hours. During that time, he/she would face the ridicule of the people.
