James Joyce spent some time in Pula teaching English language, and his memory is preserved with this moument of him sitting by the table at the small terrace of Uliks coffee bar, waiting for the ordered espresso or a glass of Istrian Terran. He didn’t have good things to say about the town and local lore says that he will wait a very long time before his beverage is served.
